Important Note: From the completion of my doctoral studies, I have had no peer-reviewed academic publications. There is a good reason for this: my first and only faculty position since earning my PhD was at a publicly funded four-year teaching college. The Evergreen State College expects faculty to focus on capacity building for research and action through interdisciplinary experience-based education. Teaching loads are heavy, as are governance commitments, and faculty members are expected to prioritize these things first. Indeed, Evergreen faculty members have no publication requirements for advancement. This allows them to focus on teaching, mentoring, and, often, research for use by local activist communities and nonprofits. At Evergreen, I even earned “continuing status” (i.e., tenure) without publishing in any journals. As such, my work in knowledge production and dissemination from 2010 to 2020 is best captured through a review of my teaching and mentoring.
